Historic structures like the Woodstock Apartments make up the fabric of Detroit’s neighborhoods. We need to redevelop these buildings, not demolish them for surface parking. That’s why on Wednesday we submitted a formal letter to the Department of Planning and Development, the City Planning Commission, and City Council, asking them to amend the city’s zoning laws. By increasing the distance between parking lots and stadiums to 2,000 radial feet, we can help ensure a more walkable, vibrant, and historic Detroit.
