David Mackenzie House Update

Per Wayne State University, the David Mackenzie House will be moved in late January or early February of 2019.

The university is working with International Chimney to move the house, the same firm that moved Detroit’s Gem Theatre in 1997.

The David Mackenzie House was home to Preservation Detroit for nearly forty years. We saved the building from demolition in the 70s, and then raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for restoration work.
