Explore the sculptures and other public art in Detroit's Cultural Center

On select dates, we explore the sculptures and other public art in Detroit's Cultural Center since its inception more than 100 years ago. The tour departs from the Josephine Ford Sculpture Garden on John R at E. Kirby.

Detroit's Cultural Center is the home of numerous art installations in public places and spaces. This tour explores an array of sculptures, murals, and statues, big and small.  See more than 30 works and learn about the artists who created them, including Michigan artists Sergio De Giusti, Lois Teicher, Michael D. Hall, Hubert Massey, and Charles McGee, and such national and international artists as Tony Smith, Ursula von Rydingsvard, Auguste Rodin, and Alexander Calder. Highlights include the Josephine Ford Sculpture Garden and the McGregor Memorial Conference Center Sculpture Court.

Parking: Metered and non-metered street parking is available in the immediate area. Paid parking is also available at the DIA parking lot.
