2018 Tour Season Kickoff and Volunteer Recruitment
Join us Saturday March 24 from 9:30am to 12pm at the Mackenzie House! (4735 Cass Ave.)
Have you ever seen people giving tours to large groups and think, “I could do that!”? Do you possess a lot of Detroit knowledge but always trying to learn more? Are you always looking for an excuse to share that knowledge? Well, we just might have the opportunity for you!
Then attend our Tour Season Kickoff and Volunteer Recruitment
to learn how YOU can be a part of our team!
We are in need of some VIPs (Volunteers in Preservation!) to be a part of our tour program. And if being a tour guide right off the bat seems daunting, no worries! We also need shepherds to help with other tasks such as moving the tour along, keeping the group together and to interact with tour attendees.
Join us on Saturday March 24 at 9:30am at the Mackenzie House (4735 Cass Ave.) where we will tell you all about the program and to meet current volunteers who will no doubt tell you they’ve been with us for YEARS and love volunteering for us.
There will be coffee and light refreshments. Please RSVP here by 3/22 and feel free to recruit a friend or family member–we could always use a few more passionate historic preservation volunteers. Please note that this is the ONLY time of the year we take on new volunteers for the tour program, so if you want to get involved, NOW is the time!
This is also a kickoff to our tour season, and therefore we STRONGLY suggest that ALL current guides and shepherds attend this event as well.
If you have any questions, please contact Mickey Lyons at mlyons@preservationdetroit.org.
